HISTORIC aircraft will be joined by some modern-day military muscle this weekend.
Yorkshire Air Museum, at Elvington, near York, is hosting its third annual helicopter day on Sunday with exhibits coming from across the region.
An RAF Sea King helicopter, from Leconfield, East Yorkshire, will be on show, along with a Gazelle from 9 Regiment Army Air Corps, at Dishforth, and a 1953 Westland Dragonfly.
Humberside Police's helicopter and that of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance service will also be on hand.
Visitors will get a chance to take to the skies themselves, with flights in Jet Ranger aircraft available throughout the day.
Entrance is £5 for adults, and £4 for children. The gates open at 10am
