CHAIRMAN Jack Glendinning reported on a successful year at the annual meeting of Sedgefield College Community Association.
He said that with the college obtaining sports college status there was a spin-off to the community.
The improved facilities which were planned would also be of great benefit to neighbouring communities.
Mr Glendinning said that with the appointment of centre manager Darren Langthorne, he felt it was an appropriate time for someone else to take over the duties of chairman.
Mrs Ruth Needham, vice- chairwoman, also did not seek re-election.
Headteacher Lynn Ackland proposed that Mr Glendinning and Mrs Needham be made life members.
Officials elected were: chairman Geoff Rigden; vice chairman Geoff Clifford-Brown; treasurer Councillor John Hannon.
