YOUNG entrepreneurs will compete for a business title at regional finals tonight.
For the past academic year, pupils from comprehensive, private and special schools have been managing their own businesses as part of the Young Enterprise North-East (Yene) programme.
The five best entrants have been selected to take part in the competition's regional finals, in Beamish Hall, County Durham, at 6pm.
The winner will represent the region in the national finals in London, in July.
The Yene programme helps pupils to understand the real issues of starting a business, from developing a viable idea to personnel, productivity and marketing.
The finalists are Crazy Creations, from Barbara Priestman Special School, Sunderland; Frank, from Newcastle's Royal Grammar School; Blue Moo, from Staindrop Comprehensive School, County Durham; Perfect Plants, from St Benet Biscop Roman Catholic School, Bedlington, Northumberland; and Angry Squirrel Records, from Egglescliffe School, Teesside.
