TWO postmen teamed up to deliver a pictorial account of a special day in the history of one of the region's amateur football teams.
Councillor Phil Graham, a postal worker, took photographs at the last match played at Bishop Auckland Football Club's Kingsway ground.
The game, on April 20, ended more than 100 years of football at the stadium before a temporary ground-share at Shildon while a new stadium is built.
Coun Graham said: "I know the team and ground have been an important part of the town for many years and I think it is important to remember that.
"By taking photographs of the occasion I hope to mark the area's heritage and share fond memories."
When fellow postman David Illingworth heard about the collection he suggested it should go on display to the public.
So an exhibition about the ground's final days is being run at the Discovery Centre, in Bishop Auckland Market Place, for three weeks.
Mr Illingworth, a member of Bishop Auckland's independent supporters' club said: "I wasn't around for the first match in 1886 but I can honestly say I have the most comprehensive record of the last one which I hope lots of people enjoy."
