JUBILEE celebrations are well under way at a County Durham school. Pupils at Dean Bank primary school, Ferryhill, have been busy making crowns and flags as part of the school's plans to mark the Queen's golden jubilee.
The youngsters, aged between four and seven, are competing to see who can make the best crown.
On the Thursday before the half-term break the school will hold a street party, when the pupils will wear their crowns. Dorothy Baister, school coordinator, said: " If the weather is nice we'll go outside, if not we'll have the party in the corridor. The children know all about the jubilee. We've been looking at pictures and watching the television. They are very excited.
