A COLLEGE football team has scored a hat-trick by winning three national competitions in less than two weeks.
Middlesbrough College's Soccer Academy earned the winners' trophy at the British Colleges' Sport National Cup on May 1.
Then, on May 3, the team triumphed in the National Academy League Cup, a national knock-out competition for 60 teams.
The third trophy was won on May 8, at the Champions' League Cup Final.
College vice-principal Paul Urwin said the winning treble had never been achieved by any other college.
"The academy team lost only one game in the season," he said.
"I am extremely proud of the efforts of the staff and students. I do not think this unique treble will ever be achieved again, unless it is by ourselves.
