THE Mayor of Darlington celebrated her last day in office by presenting three cheques to charities in the borough yesterday.
Councillor Isobel Hartley was invited to visit the Darlington Association on Disabilities' Dash project at Borough Road Nursery School, where she presented three £1,000 cheques to Darlington Association on Disability (DAD), Darlington Mind and Darlington Crossroads, which is a scheme providing respite to carers.
The cheques represent money raised by the mayor during her time in office.
During her visit, Coun Hartley also presented a children's buggy to Darlington Shopmobility.
The mayor expressed her thanks to all those who had worked hard for her as trustees over the past year.
