A young mother was left shattered after marrying her "true love" she met on a phone chatline only to discover he was a bigamist.
Nicola Miller's world was in turmoil when her husband disappeared when she was seven months' pregnant.
However, her life was destroyed when detectives visited her home and told her that Abbas Khan was already married.
Khan was facing jail yesterday after pleading guilty to bigamy and perjury at Newcastle Magistrates' Court.
Ms Miller, 25, said: "I feel absolutely shattered. I feel a complete fool. My whole life over the last year has been an absolute sham. I feel ashamed."
She met Khan in July last year after she and a friend phoned a chatline as a joke after a night out in Newcastle.
She was attracted by the phone charm of Khan, 28, and the pair exchanged numbers.
After a series of phone calls Khan visited her and her son Harrison, now seven, at their home in Whitley Bay after he travelled from his native Glasgow.
Two weeks later the couple set up home and made plans for a quick wedding.
They married on August 24 last year at a ceremony in Newcastle Civic Centre.
Ms Miller fell pregnant four weeks later, and her son had come to know Khan as his "daddy".
Khan, whose real name is Casser Choudary, had been married to his cousin, Farid Ashraf, 28, for seven years and they had two children.
Yesterday, Khan, of Kelvin Bridge, Glasgow, admitted bigamy and perjury.
Sentencing was adjourned for reports.
