A SLIMMER who shed pounds after joining a weight-loss club has won an award for helping others get in trim.
Lesley Bell, 34, joined a Slimming World class in Hemlington, Middlesbrough, in January 2001 and lost two-and-a-half stones in less than a year.
Last May, she became a consultant for the group and has now received a Slimming World bronze award for helping 50 members lose more than 700lbs between them over a three month period.
She said: "Watching someone change from having no confidence and being embarrassed about their size, to someone who looks and feels great, brings its own rewards on a daily basis.
"But to have my work recognised in this way is a very proud moment for me.
