Illegal car washers are preying on people in Marske and Saltburn according to local police officer Derek Taylor. PC Taylor told a meeting of Saltburn, Marske and New Marske Parish Council that cleaning items had been confiscated but the people involved could be very intimidating. "They will throw a bucket of water over a car and when the owner returns they will say it has been washed and demand £5 for it," he said. He urged anyone with information to contact the police on (01642) 326326.
IDENTITY PARADE: Men aged between 25 and 35 are needed for a police identity parade in North Ormesby, Middlesbrough. Volunteers must be white, with brown hair and a beard. Men of any description with a beard are also asked to contact police to be added to a database of volunteers. Those taking part are paid a £5 registration fee and £10 per hour at each parade. ART ONLINE: A new website highlighting collaborations between Teesside artists and mentally ill people will go online later this month. The site - www.onlinearts.tv - will feature photography, artwork and writing inspired and produced by people who attend day centres in Middlesbrough, Stockton and Redcar and Cleveland. The project, established by Cleveland Arts, goes live at 12.30pm on Friday, May 31.
CHARITY CONCERT: The Clare Singers will be giving a concert in aid of breast cancer research at Redcar Cricket Club, on Monday, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £2.50, including pie and peas, and are available by calling (01642) 471064, or turn up on the night.
