A GROUP of newly-qualified play workers have received certificates recognising their dedication to learning.
The eight women spent 30 weeks training at Greenfield Community and Arts Centre, in Newton Aycliffe.
They were presented with Adult Learners Awards by Ken Hall, headteacher of Spennymoor Comprehensive School.
The women were nominated for the award by community education worker Rob Robson, who said: "They have distinguished themselves by overcoming personal barriers to learning."
