A MOTHER has raised more than £200 to buy a specialist buggy for children.
Heather Burke decided to buy the buggy for Darlington's Shopmobility scheme after a similar one made a big difference to the life of her autistic son, Gregory.
Mrs Burke sold children's books at All Saints Church, Darlington, and at her home to raise the money.
She said: "I would like to thank everyone who helped me raise the £240 to buy the buggy, which I hope will be used by a lot of people."
In the past, Mrs Burke has raised money for Help the Aged, Darlington Hospital and the Children's Society in Heighington.
