ALMOST £2,000 was raised at a charity night in aid of Darlington Memorial Hospital's digital retinal camera appeal. The Save Our Sight appeal committee organised the event at Darlington Arts Centre.

JEWELLERY STOLEN: About £200 worth of jewellery and other items were stolen from a house in Kenny Walk, Newton Aycliffe, early on Thursday.
CAR DAMAGED: Three tyres on a Nissan Almera were slashed in Guthrum Place, Newton Aycliffe, early yesterday.
