STUDENTS from Redcar and Cleveland College perform their own version of the hit musical Grease this week.
The production is by Btec national and first diploma students who have put their hallmark on the show with a different script and their interpretations of characters, such as Danny, Sandy, Rizzo and Frenchy.
Course leader and lecturer Craig Hannaway directs and is cast as the beauty school drop-out singer, Teen Angel.
Lecturers Stephen Colbert and Paul Whittaker are responsible for the music, which will be performed by the college orchestra, a guest saxophonist and drummer. Art students have designed the posters and set.
Performances are in the college's main hall on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings, with a matinee for schools on Thursday. Tickets cost £4.50 and £3.50 and are available from the college.
Mr Hannaway said: "The students have put a great deal of effort and hard work into this production and we are all delighted with the finished result. Grease is one of the most popular and famous musicals ever written and the students' interpretation of it is excellent."
