THE Princess Royal Trust Sedgefield Locality Carers Centre has organised events for National Carers Week, from June 10 to 16.
There will be a tombola stall in Newton Aycliffe town centre on Tuesday, June 11, from 10am. A social evening will be held at the town's RAFA club on Wednesday, June 12, from 7pm, with tickets available from centre staff. The group is hosting an open day on Friday, June 14, at the Pioneering Care Centre, from 10am to 2pm, which will be attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Great Aycliffe. PASTURES NEW: The Reverend Judith Howes conducted her last service at St John's Church, Neasham Road, Darlington, yesterday. She is leaving the church after almost seven years to take up a post in Washington, which is the largest parish in the diocese.
ROADWORKS: Temporary traffic lights will be operating at off-peak times in Grange Road, Darlington, today and tomorrow, while Darlington Borough Council staff repair the road outside the Blackwell Grange Hotel.
DISABILITIES NETWORK: The Learning Disabilities Action Network group in Darlington will meet on Friday, from 1.30pm to 3pm at Pease House, Horsemarket, to discuss work opportunities for people with learning problems.
