WALKERS can learn about herbal lore on a country stroll in Middlesbrough on Sunday.
Sue Antrobus, Middlesbrough Council's wild space officer and a keen herbalist, will lead the walk along Marton West Beck, dressed as a wise woman and will give tips on remedies for a poor complexion, malaria and other ailments.
She said: "People are fascinated by herbal remedies and their folklore and I'm sure this walk will add to people's interest, understanding and respect for our wild flowers."
The free walk starts at 2pm from Lingfield Farm Countryside Centre and finishes at 4.30pm. Refreshments available in the centre will include nettle soup and dandelion coffee.
