SOCIAL and healthcare organisation, the National Care Standards Commission, has moved into new area office at Teesdale Business Park, creating 25 jobs, including five new inspector posts.

From its new office accommodation on the top floor of the 12,500 sq ft Advance building in the St Mark's Basin area of the business park, NCSC will provide a regulatory and inspectorate role for social and healthcare providers in and around the Teesside area.

The office will play a key role in establishing the newly created organisation within the region.

A further 79 offices have been set up throughout England, almost 70 of which are now fully operational. The remainder will go live before the end of July.

Welcoming NCSC to the business park, Philip Leech, director of lead developer Terrace Hill, said: "We have been very successful in attracting quality occupiers like NCSC to the business park since we began developing Teesdale in 1996. We are committed to providing building design and an environment of the highest standards, which is currently supporting rental levels of £15 per square foot.

"We look forward to establishing a closer relationship with the NCSC team now that they have taken up occupation and to welcoming them to the Teesdale Business Association."

Trevor Robertson, property manager for NCSC, will be responsible for managing the national NCSC portfolio and cites the location of Teesdale as a key factor in the decision-making process.

He said: "Not only is Teesdale ideally situated, but the design of the building is ideal for our needs because it has disabled access and is fully compliant with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act.

Two floors of the Advance building are still available to let. The agent is Knight Frank and Dodds Brown Commercial.
