THE winners of a stained glass competition have been presented with their prizes.
Schools throughout Sunderland and Washington were invited to submit a design based on their visits to the National Glass Centre, in Sunderland, during Glass Week 2001, last November.
More than 60 children were given free access to the centre thanks to funding from the Sponsors Club for Arts and Business and Sir Tom Cowie's company, North European Marine Services.
The winning designs were put on to stained glass panels by artist, Gill McGinley. They were presented to the winners - Richard Avenue Primary School and Barmston Village School, where they will be displayed - by John Anderson, chairman of The National Glass Centre.
