AN AMATEUR theatre group is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a show next week.
Members of the Glenholme Theatre Club, in Crook, will be staging the comedy, Don't Start Without Me, by Joyce Rayburn, at the town's Elite Hall.
The club is trying to attract new members and will be holding a series of open nights to win more support.
Hairdresser Bernard Lally, who has been a producer and actor with the club since it started, said: "Although you may only have a cast of 12 actors, a lot of people don't realise it takes twice that number to actually put on a production.
"So, although we are always looking for new actors and actresses, we are also very keen to recruit new backstage and production workers."
But Mr Lally and other club members are emphatic that amateur theatre will still be alive in Crook for another 25 years.
Don't Start Without Me is being staged next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, at the Elite Hall, at 7pm.
Tickets cost £3, or £2.50 for pensioners and the unemployed.
