PARENTS and carers learnt about the services available for special needs children at an information day yesterday.
Anyone who worked with disabled children and their families was invited to the event, hosted by Durham County Council's social services department, at County Hall, Durham.
It aimed to make people aware of the Children's Network, a register of children with disabilities, and enabled people to have special needs children included on it.
Rob Watson, the council's Children's Network project officer, said: "The day was a good opportunity to meet other parents and carers, and talk to people who work with disabled children and young people."
Parents and carers also saw demonstrations of the latest products and services for disabled youngsters, including wheelchairs, toys, car seats, cots and beds.
