CRANSWICK has announced a sizzling rise in profits.
The Yorkshire business, which owns sausage firm Lazenby's in Thornaby, saw pre-tax profits rise 49 per cent to £17.5m in the year to March 31. Turnover increased 17 per cent to £255.6m.
Cranswick Country Foods and Lazenby's managing director, Bernard Hoggarth, said: "This has been another successful year for the company. The growth momentum has continued."
Mr Hoggarth said the intergration of Continental Fine Foods, acquired last July, had been completed successfully and the company was performing well.
