GIRLS from a Darlington school took part in a study sleepover at the Science Museum in London.
The 44 girls and eight staff from Polam Hall School joined 350 other students from across the country in a series of workshops and lectures on the theme of stars and space.
They made rockets and a model of the constellation Orion, as well as learning about Newton's third law of motion, using balloons, straws and string.
The school's junior department science teacher and deputy headteacher Wilma Campbell, who accompanied the girls, said: "It was a novel way for the girls to learn more about science and the experience has certainly reinforced the lessons they have already received.
