A CHEEKY civil servant who ran naked alongside the Queen's car during a Royal tour had his specially adapted "quick release" trousers confiscated yesterday.
Brynn Reed was given a 12-month conditional discharge by magistrates after he admitted indecent exposure during the Queen's Golden Jubilee visit to Newcastle earlier this month.
The 27-year-old - who had the words "Rude Britannia" emblazoned across his buttocks - was arrested after he stripped off, vaulted railings and ran alongside her Rolls Royce before sprinting ahead of the car.
Reed, who is now looking for work after losing his job at the Department for Work and Pensions in the wake of his streak, admitted the consequences of his prank had been dire.
But he said after yesterday's hearing before Newcastle magistrates that he would not rule out stripping off again in future.
In a bid to deter him, magistrates confiscated his specially adapted jeans which had Velcro down the seams - allowing him to strip off in a flash. He was also ordered to pay £55 costs.
Reed, of Stormont Street, North Shields, said: "They confiscated my pants but I've still got my trainers.
"I don't regret doing it and in a way I'm still glad I did it. I got off pretty lightly and while I'm happy with the outcome, I'm not happy about the consequences.
"I was really enjoying my job but now I'm completely skint."
The court heard how Reed sprang into action as the Queen's motorcade approached St Mary's Cathedral on May 7, where she was to unveil a monument to the late Cardinal Basil Hulme.
Joanne Miller, defending Reed, said: "He would like to apologise to Her Majesty and anyone who was offended by his actions."
Afterwards his girlfriend, Susannah Johnson, 18, revealed that Reed had meticulously planned the whole thing.
He had a list of escapades he wanted to achieve before he dies and streaking was top of his list, she said.
Susannah, of Walker, Newcastle, said: "He got me to write the words Rude Britannia on his bum.
"He had no underpants on. He just whipped off his shorts and shirt and made a jump for the barrier.
"I never thought he would go through with it, but there he was running alongside the Queen's car, waving furiously with all his bits dangling for everyone to see.
