Tow Law, Bass League
At the Annual General Meeting there were two new teams entered, whilst Esh Football Club resigned. The teams competing in the season, which will begin on 10 June are Newhouse Club, Sunniside Moss Inn, Stanley Earl Derby, Tow Law Rose and Crown, Tow Law Cattle Mart, Tow Law Dan's Castle, Esh McKennas, Tow Law Station, Sunniside Comedian, Tow Law New Market A and B, Hamilton Row Black Horse, Cornsay Royal Oak and Esh Stag's Head.
Willington League
There were ten entries into the Six Man Knock Out Cup played at the Prospect Club with Willington Cottles taking the trophy when they beat Willington Burn 2-0 in the final. The finishes in the two legs were vastly different as John Scott finished the first on 113 and then John Barron clinched the trophy with a double one finish.
In the qualifying stages Willington Club beat Willington Commercial 2-0 but then lost to Willington Lion and Unicorn by the odd point. The Burn beat Willington Black Horse Inn in the decider, before going into the final with a similar score against the Lion and Unicorn.
In the other half of the draw Willington Black Horse Tavern beat Sunnybrow Brown Trout but then went down to Cottles. Willington Brewer's Droop beat Hunwick Quarry Burn in the decider but then failed to take a point from Cottles in the semi-final.
The League's Annual General Meeting will be held at the Prospect Club on Wednesday, 17 July at 7.30p.m. when all teams wishing to compete must be represented. There are vacancies for any interested teams in the area and they can obtain advance information by ringing 01388 746317 and talking to the secretary, Phil Blyth.
Crook Ladies League
The unbeaten reigning champions have moved their home venue to Crook Queen's Head but there is no change in their effectiveness as they only dropped one point to the visiting Tow Law Black Horse. League newcomers, Howden Green Tree made a good start with a three points win at Tow Law New Market A.
The leading individual scorers were Shirley Hind 140 for Tow Law Black Horse, Norma Parkin 140 for Jelly's Bar B, Louise Stockdale 140 for the North Point, Freda Morison 139 for the New Market A, Sandra Parkinson 138 for Willington Black Horse, Val Readman 133 for the Victoria, Dawn Harrison 127 and Gail Abbott, Margaret Stewart and Eileen Graham 121 each for the Queen's A and Linda Hope 120 for the Station.

Wear Valley Ladies
The Competitions Round-up was held at Croft Social Club when all the outstanding matches were played prior to the Finals Night.
In the quarter final of the Open Pairs Kathleen Reynolds and Clare Stewart beat Freda Brown and Barbara Atkinson 2-1. They then went on to beat Sandra Lomax and Corinne Heslop 2-0 in the semi-final. Their opponents in the final will be Carol Haygarth and Tracey Thompson, who beat Joan hall and Sue Graham 2-0. In the outstanding semi-final of the Team Pairs, Crook Royal Sun Inn beat Croft Social Club 2-1 to qualify to meet Crook Golden Fleece in the final.
In the final of the Team Knock Out Cup Crook Golden Fleece beat Crook Mill House 2-0. In the final of the team Singles Knock Out Cup Oakenshaw beat Crook Three Blue Bells 4-3.
Weardale Ladies League
The Ann Fairless Memorial knockout was held at Wolsingham WMC with proceeds going to charity. In the semi final Golden Lion B beat Blue Bell B whilst Wolsingham WMC beat Pack Horse. The Club beat the Lion 2-0 in the final
June Barron is the finalist in the singles knockout not her mother Pam as reported last week.

Crook League
A decider was necessary in the knockout final after Belle Vue WMC and Market tied 6-6. Market won the toss and opted for darts rather than dominoes but then lost out when Doug McCarthy defeated Paul Knighton 2-0.
Doug McCarthy beat Paul Morgan 2-0 in the semi final of the Wearmouth Singles whilst in the other half of the draw Jeff Sneath defeated Alan Sneath 2-0. McCarthy beat Sneath 2-1 in an all Belle Vue final.
The semi final of the dominoes produced 5-1 victories for John Blackett over Gerald Parkin and Keith Newton over Michael Hill. The all Market final saw Blackett beat Newton 5-3.
Market duo Kevin Sanderson and Jason Bone beat Dave Taylor and Brian Nesbitt of Belle Vue 2-1 in the final of the Fred Irvine pairs. The semi final losers were Neil Campbell and Andy Bolton of Fleece and Paul Sunter and Michael Thompson of Royal Sun Inn.
Belle Vue trio Doug McCarthy, Jeff Sneath and Dave Taylor beat Barry Longstaff, Jeff Graham and John Stewart 3-0 to take the Harry Mangles trophy.
180 maximums came from Brian Nesbitt and Jeff Sneath of Belle Vue WMC.
