STUDENTS have been paying a colourful tribute to one of their former classmates, two years after she died. Emma Howard was 18 when she died in March 2000 after her car left the road and hit a tree. A former pupil at Malton School, she was a keen artist who had studied A-level art. Her parents Vicky and John set up a memorial prize, to be awarded to the students judged to have put the most effort into work during the year. Last night the school hosted its second exhibition of the art work of students aged from 15 to 18 as Mr and Mrs Howard presented the school with money to buy art materials. A-level pupils, above, with their work, are from left, Chris Bales, Nicholas Harrison, John Towse, Claire Shipley, Shelley Hughes and Tessa Hayton.
