PEOPLE with an interest in local government are being sought to play a role in deciding how much their local representatives are paid.
The remuneration panel is an independent body which makes recommendations on the level of councillors' allowances, travelling expenses and pension eligibility.
Members of the panel are expected to attend several meetings each year, undertaking research on various aspects of councillors' duties and remuneration.
A small honorarium is payable.
The closing date for applicants is June 17.
For further information, contact George Sutton or Mark Angus at County Hall, Northallerton, on (01609) 532117.
