A house in Stephenson Street, Ferryhill, was burgled twice in two days. The first break-in was between 9.30am and 11am on Wednesday,when a kitchen window was smashed and two mobile phones, one a Nokia 3210, valued at £180 were stolen. Burglars struck again between 2.30pm and 8.30pm on Thursday, after removing a temporary board, stealing a pair of Reebok trainers worth £15 and a £30 pair of Puma trainers.
GOLDEN GAME: Families in North Bitchburn, near Howden-le-Wear, will enjoy a game of cricket to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee. There will also be a village party with a folk band, disco, commemorative display in the cricket pavilion and games for all ages on Monday, June 3, from 3pm.
BINGO STRIP: Bingo fans will have two chances a day to win an England football jersey in the week leading up to the World Cup. Gala, in Skinnergate, Darlington, will host fundraising bingo games every afternoon and evening from Monday to Friday, next week. Members will be asked to pay 50p to take part with proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Research.

CHARITY NIGHT: A soul night at the Cumby Arms in Heighington, which attracted about 120 people, raised £400 for local charities.
LIBRARY DISPLAY: Newton Aycliffe Library is staging a display of photographs of scenes from the Queen's Silver Jubilee, with pictures of royal visits to the town, to celebrate the golden jubilee, from May 27 to June 8.
STREET PARTY: Residents of Wederly Close, at Oakfield Lodge, Darlington, have organised a street party to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee, on Monday, June 3. There will be food, games, fancy dress and raffles.
