HUNDREDS of youngsters from across North Yorkshire are taking part in an event to celebrate the quality of education in the county's schools.
Over two days at The Pavilions, Harrogate, the showcase conference will show off skills in drama, gymnastics, design technology, science and other subjects.
Striving for Excellence for Every Child takes place on June 14 and 15 and will look at the breadth of education, from early years through to key health issues, including sporting activities, drugs and sex education.
County councillor Chris Metcalfe, executive member for education, said: "The county council has a deep and long-standing commitment to improvement in education. Our objective is a simple one - to secure excellence for every child.
"This conference is a celebration of that excellence. It has been designed to acknowledge the real achievements of North Yorkshire's primary and special schools.
"It will be a vibrant event with a balanced programme of keynote speakers, workshops, exhibitions and activities for children."
