A PUB has shown its determination to embrace the future by accepting euros.
The Blue Bell, in Fossgate, York, is accepting the currency in an effort to attract tourists.
Landlady Sue Hardie, who runs the business with husband Jim, believes it is the first in the city to start accepting the European notes and coins.
She said: "People can use the euro all over Europe now and we don't want to turn business away. If you work in the tourism industry you have to be prepared to accommodate visitors."
