A 20-year-old woman was treated in hospital for smoke inhalation following a fire at her flat in Navigation Road, off Walmgate, in the centre of York.
The blaze is thought to have been caused by a candle left unattended in a bedroom. A neighbour raised the alarm at about 10.15pm on Friday.
