FORMER Tory leader William Hague could be back in the saddle this weekend.
The Richmond MP and his wife, Ffion, have been invited to Catterick Garrison to open a £200,000 equestrian centre on Saturday.
Although the military will be using the facilities, the new all-weather Saddle Club is also open to civilian horse-riders from across the district.
"It was a complete nightmare last year with the foot-and-mouth outbreak because all our riding had to be done on roads but, now, with this fantastic and modern building, we will be able to teach, no matter what the weather," said Corporal of Horse, Jamie Broom, of the Household Cavalry.
"The school also provides a much safer and more secure environment for youngsters to learn.
"It will be particularly helpful when we have Riding for the Disabled classes as it will help to boost their confidence."
