A 23-YEAR-OLD man accused of taking part in an assault outside a pub appeared in court yesterday.
Edward Gill, of Brough Court, Hartlepool, is charged with grievous bodily harm and affray following the incident in the town on Sunday afternoon.
Mr Gill was granted conditional bail to appear at Teesside Crown Court on June 25 for a preliminary hearing.
His brother, Robert Gill, also 23, is due to appear before Hartlepool magistrates on similar charges this morning.
The incident left one man fighting for his life in Middlesbrough General Hospital's intensive care unit with head injuries, and another man suffering from less serious injuries.
