YOUNGSTERS got into the party spirit yesterday, when they took part in a series of events to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee.
The children from Bewley Infant School, Billingham, each released a red, white or blue balloon as a tribute to the Queen.
Each balloon had a message pinned on to it with the name of the child and school in the hope people will get in touch to let the school know they have found the balloon.
The youngster whose balloon has travelled the furthest will win a teddy bear.
The children also took part in old-fashioned party games and despite heavy showers had a street party - although it had to be moved indoors.
Heather Kemp, acting headteacher said: "The weather did not spoil any of our day and the children all really enjoyed it. It has been good fun."
