Witton-le-Wear remain bottom of Division A after losing for the fifth time in six outings. Cockerton had little trouble securing a 130 runs victory after posting 246 for the loss of four wickets in 40 overs.
Shaun Farrow led the way with an unbeaten 110 which included a couple of sixes and 13 boundaries. Steve Lethbridge added 68 with ten fours and Dave Black weighed in with a quick fire 40 from 15 deliveries.
He recorded a couple of sixes and found the boundary line on five occasions.
Witton-le-Wear batted 34.4 overs replying with a total of 116 which included 34 by Storey.
He had five boundaries and received 34 balls. Most successful of the four-man Cockerton attack was Dave Glew with five for 39 from 13 overs, four of which were maidens.
Barton lead the table and they made it six wins out of six defeating Raby Castle by 84 runs.
Required to score 175 Raby Castle finished on 90 for two of which opener Dent contributed 34.
McAfee, Miller, Kearney and Lockey all made at least 20 as Barton reached 174 for eight with Hurst claiming three for 24 in the Raby Castle attack.
Heighington are second just two points behind the leaders, but they suffered their first defeat of the season when they lost by 44 runs to Middleton St George.
The visitors managed only 69 as Hussain took five for 17 and McKenna five for 34 this after Middleton St George had totalled 113 all out of which Rogers top scored with 57.
Bewcock bowled well for Heighington in taking six for 36 and Overfield had three for 48.
Aldbrough St John and Witton-le-Wear are the only sides not to have tasted success.
Aldbrough St John lost by two wickets to Rockliffe Park who overtook the home side's total of 114 for six mainly as a result of the efforts of opener Wheeler with 36.
Hoyle claimed four for 65 and Snelling had three for 44 in the Aldbrough attack.
Batting first Aldbrough struggled to 114 for six of which Holehouse scored 33 and Fenwick an unbeaten 40. Krishnan (3-43) and Garbutt (2-41) shared five of the six wickets to fall.
Eryholme were all out for 63 visiting Ingleton for whom Gamack returned figures of six for 25 and Laundy three for 14.
Although they lost four wickets reaching the small target Ingleton were never in danger. Laundy top scored with 25 when he opened the innings and later Stuart Dawson carried his bat for 24.
Spennymoor could only make 48 at home to Barningham but then made the visitors struggle all the way before losing by three wickets.
The game was dominated by the bowlers and Barningham's McGarr captured six wickets for a miserly eight runs.
Walker (2-24) and Bellwood (1-12) took the other wickets. When Barningham replied they found run making difficult and they conceded seven wickets before reaching the target of 49. Colin Wood had four wickets for 21 runs and Troop two for 19.
In Division B Middleton Tyas are bottom of the table following their six wickets defeat at the hands of Haughton who share the leadership with Cliffe.
Middleton Tyas were all out for 49 in 27 overs as David Edwards claimed three wickets for 13 runs and Colin Wilkinson three for ten. Haughton lost three wickets, two of them to Nigel Wilkinson for 19 runs in 14 overs.
But they won losing three wickets after occupying the wicket for 29 overs.
Cliffe won for the fifth time in six outings when they defeated Brompton-on-Swale by seven wickets. The home side mustered 93 as Forster returned the excellent figures of seven for 38. Rowe (38) and Atkinson (30) scored most of the runs for Brompton.
Responding Cliffe were indebted to opener Rogerson who carried his bat for 43.
He was assisted in an unbroken fourth wicket partnership by Curry (21no).
Bowlers also dominated when Heighington hosted Dales. The home side struggled to 85 all out as Platt returned five for 38 and Simpson five for 44.
An undefeated innings of 50 by Lawson and 29 by Richardson steered Dales to an eight wickets win. King James were restricted to 85 for five and went down by four wickets to East Cowton. Raw, with three for 32, bowled well for the visitors who were pleased that Clark, batting at number four, finished undefeated on 38 out of a match winning total of 88 for six.
Four of the six wickets were taken by Brack at a cost of 33 runs.
After totalling 136 for five Trimdon CCA bowled out Lands for 75. Coughtree had the excellent figures of four for 19 and Carter took three for 22. They were assisted by Watchman who claimed two wickets for 21 runs.
When they batted first Trimdon CCA were pleased at the form of opener Carter who scored 54 before being run out. Horner contributed 29 and Gorton 20 while for Lands their best performer with the ball was Dalton who returned three for 39.
One game in Division B was called off. Rain prevented any play between Middleton-in-Teesdale and Catterick Village.
In Division C Spennithorne and Harmby easily accounted for Cliffe who were back in the pavilion with only 33 runs on the board as Walker took five for 18 and Clarkson three for 13. Earlier Farrow (55) and Walker (55) led Spennithorne and Harmby to a match winning 154 for four with three of the wickets going to Walton for 16 runs.
Raby Castle defeated Barton by 22 runs after posting 131 for eight which included 32 by Gowland 46 from Lee. Porritt had five for 39 for Barton who were all out for 109 as Jackson did even better claiming six wickets for 49 runs.
Rockliffe Park totalled 116 with Briggs contributing 45 while for Aldbrough St John, Wilson, Vickerman and Hoult all took three wickets. Aldbrough were all out for 50 as Edwards claimed three for eight and Raby four for 14.
Trimdon Colliery and Deaf Hill ended with a very useful total of 182 for nine mainly as a result of the efforts of Wise with 50 and Thompson (48).
Dobinson had four for 18 for Haughton who were dismissed for 77 which included 34 by their man of their man of the match Dobinson. Owens with four for 26 and Craggs (3-36) were the bowlers who did the damage for Haughton.
There was no play between Barningham and Trimdon CCA because of rain.
