LITTLE Jasmine Smith's potential artistic talent has impressed judges almost as much as her eye for the environment.
The six-year-old from Greenland Community Infants School at South Moor, Stanley, won a digital camera in the National Schools Environmental Art Competition in Birmingham.
She narrowly missed out on first prize but her images of some of the world's most endangered species of plants of animals means her work is being displayed at Birmingham's Halcyon Gallery.
Jasmine was also awarded the camera for making the national finals after winning a regional heat.
"I'm really proud to see my work in the gallery," said Jasmine who had a day out in Birmingham to take part in the competition. Jasmine met Coronation Street actor Clare McGlinn who plays teacher Charlie Ramsden as part of her big day.
