A SERVICE of celebration will be held in Ripon Cathedral, North Yorkshire, at 11.30am tomorrow.
The Dean of Ripon, the Very Reverend John Metheun, said he hoped for a congregation of more than 1,200 to celebrate the occasion.
"We will do our best to squeeze everyone in to this significant event, the only major cathedral service over the Golden Jubilee weekend for North Yorkshire," said Dean Metheun, who will lead the service.
It will be attended by Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire Lord Crathorne, civic, church and community leaders from across the region.
Prayers will be said by the Roman Catholic Bishop of Leeds the Right Reverend David Constant and the High Sheriff of North Yorkshire, Mark Evans.
Much of the music, led by director of music Kerry Beaumont, will be taken from the Queen's Coronation service.
An unusual feature will be the presentation of four symbols of royal service - a Bible, symbolising the one presented to the Queen when she was crowned, holy oil representing the Coronation anointing, a bowl and towel linking the Maundy Thursday tradition of service, and a horn to represent the community, nation and Commonwealth.
