THERE was a royal turnout at a South Durham school where 116 pupils and their teachers played the part of kings and queens for a day.
Children at St Joseph's RC Primary School, Coundon, marked the jubilee with a lunchtime party and were presented with souvenir gold coins before they went home.
Headteacher Stefa McManners said the event had been a big success.
She said: "Everyone dressed up and had a wonderful time. It was a lovely day."
