A PLAN to pull down outbuildings and erect two new homes at The Old Stables, Boroughbridge, is being welcomed by Langthorpe Parish Council.
Backing a planning application being considered on Thursday, the parish council said the scheme was long overdue and the structure had been in need of restoration for some time. Councillors have been recommended to approve the application.
ANTI THEFT: The Scarborough Anti-Theft Group Partnership has been presented with a Safer Shopping Award under the Home Office's Business Crime Check scheme. North Yorkshire High Sheriff Mark Evans and Home Office representative Michael Schuck made the presentation to group chairman Janet Jefferson.
ABBEY FUN: Touring company Illyria will perform its version of the Shakespeare comedy, As You Like It, at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal from June 13 to 15 at 7.30pm each evening. Tickets are £11 for adults, £7.50 for children on the Thursday and Friday, and £11 on Saturday if booked. On the gate, all tickets will be £2 extra.
