A REETH man has retired after 44 years RAF service during which he estimated he trained 330 fighter controllers.
Flight Lieutenant Tony Pleasant joined up as a national serviceman in 1958 and was commissioned in 1976.
He retired from uniformed service in 1976, but continued as a higher instructional officer at the School of Fighter Control at RAF Boulmer, Northumberland, until his final retirement.
Flt Lt Pleasant retires to Reeth, where he lives with his wife, Maggie, who is still serving as corporate communications officer at RAF Leeming
