Darlington Building Society staff have got on their bikes to raise money for a local charity.
Without leaving the premises, a 22-member team from the Tubwell Row branch took part in a six-hour cycling marathon to raise funds for the Friends of Darlington Memorial Hospital and its volunteer drivers scheme.
The staff managed to cycle 198 miles and took time out from their usual working day to race for charity on the exercise bikes donated by the Dolphin Centre.
Customers and members of the building society's 175 staff gave donations. It is hoped that at least £500 has been raised.
Geoff Dawson, branch manager, said: "Everyone in this fundraising event has had a fantastic time. There has been plenty of pain, but in turn the Friends of Darlington Memorial Hospital have gained.
"Darlington Building Society is dedicated to looking after local interests and through this wonderful staff effort we have been able to put this ethos into practice.
