A DRAW between England and Sweden may not be the result fans wanted, but it is promoting a harmonious atmosphere in one North pub.
While Stan Huggins, landlord of the Pennyweight, in Darlington, was cheering on England, his Swedish partner, Ninna Sjoberg, was shouting for her country to win.
The pair spent yesterday morning glued to the pub's TV screen, each confident that their country would triumph.
Stan said: "We were both shouting at the screen for our own team to win, but it was all very friendly.
"I think England outplayed Sweden in the first half, and in the second half Sweden outplayed us. Ninna's dad called me after the game and said we were lucky. I had a bet with him for 100 kroner that we would win."
