MIDDLESBROUGH'S first Speaker found out about young people's ideas on the Queen's Golden Jubilee and the World Cup at an open day.
Rathbone Training's open day took place at Erimus House, Queen's Square, and the speaker, Councillor Ken Hall, along with Councillor Bernie Taylor, viewed a series of displays on the themes of the World Cup and the Golden Jubilee that youngsters had worked on, and saw them working on other projects at the centre.
There was also competitions, games with prizes and a buffet lunch.
Rathbone Training works with disaffected young people aged from 14, who are referred to the centre from a range of agencies, including schools, youth training schemes and the Youth Offending Team.
