VILLAGERS got into the party spirit with a weekend-long Golden Jubilee celebration which is set to continue today and tomorrow.
Residents of Great Ayton enjoyed the early summer sunshine on Saturday as they watched floats and a procession led by Langbaurgh Brass Band.
Youngsters enjoying ice creams clutched their parents and grandparents hands as the procession made its way from Low Green to High Green, where stalls and side-shows had been set up.
Earlier, children from the village took part in a sports event and for the older generation there was a dance in the parochial church hall with music by Matt Vinyl and the Decorators.
Yesterday, there was a duck race from Suggitts Ice Cream Shop to Low Green, and today there will be a family picnic from 4pm to 8pm on High Green.
