VILLAGERS got into the party spirit with jubilee celebrations that are set to continue today and tomorrow. Residents of Great Ayton enjoyed the early summer sunshine on Saturday as they watched jubilee floats and a procession led by Langbaurgh Brass Band.
Youngsters enjoying ice-creams clutched their parents' and grandparents' hands as the procession made its way from Low Green to High Green, where stalls and side-shows had been set up.
Earlier, children had taken part in sports and for the older generation there was a dance in the parochial church hall, with music by Matt Vinyl and the Decorators.
Yesterday there was a duck race from Suggitts Ice Cream Shop to Low Green and today there will be a family picnic from 4pm to 8pm on High Green.
