PEOPLE living in Hartlepool are being asked their views on plans for the final phase of improvements to the town's Brierton Lane shops.
The first phase of work, costing £30,000, is already under way on the shops, involving those fronting on to Eskdale Road.
This includes replacing a canopy over several shops, fitting a security fence and gate around the service yard and installing dusk-to-dawn lights and a security camera.
The final stage of the plans involves similar improvements to two shops and the possible demolition of three units - numbers seven, eight and nine - which are all vacant and difficult to let.
Improvements would be made to the site of the cleared shops, and there would also be some tree planting and footpath improvements.
The plans will be on display at Brierton School, in Catcote Road, tomorrow, from 2pm to 4pm, and Tuesday, June 11 from 6pm to 8pm. Visitors will also be able to talk to project leaders and give their opinions on the project.
The project is spearheaded by the Owton Rossmere Partnership, which is using Single Regeneration Budget money to revitalise the Owton and Rossmere areas of the town.
Anyone who is unable to attend a consultation session but would like more information is asked to contact Guy Rawlinson on (01429) 523426 or Matt King on (01429) 284084.
