A NEW community of neighbours got together to sing, dance and have a tipple or two in honour of the Queen yesterday.
Neighbours in Alpine Court, a new street off Merry Road in Chester-le-Street, got together as a community for the very first time.
"I'm really, really pleased, everyone's come up to me and said what a good time they've had and say we should do it again," said organiser Elsie Handley, also a Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinator.
"It has really been good fun with everyone from little children to people in their 80s having a good laugh together."
Alpine Court is a cul-de-sac development of houses, flats and bungalows for the elderly
