PRIME Minister Tony Blair celebrated the jubilee by popping along to a street party in his constituency.
Dozens of people lined the street as residents gathered around tables for a party to celebrate the historic day.
Mr Blair and his wife, Cherie, chatted and joked with people and signed autographs in Trimdon, County Durham.
Dressed in a casual denim shirt and cream trousers, Mr Blair said: "It's fabulous to have a great jubilee celebration, everyone is having a great time.
"It's a great way to celebrate what the Queen has done for this country for the last 50 years."
The PM even got into the World Cup mood by trying to kick a football through a St George cross flag - and managed to find the target once out of ten attempts.
Afterwards, he joked: "It's just as well I'm not out in Japan."
And he revealed he has hopes for the England team's chances in Japan and thinks they will beat Argentina, although the group is very tough.
Bunting and balloons lined the streets and many people had Union flags in their hands or painted in their faces.
Mrs Blair, wearing a smart navy suit, bowed to the pressure from local children and agreed to go on a teacup fairground ride.
The Blairs left the party after about an hour to travel to London for last night's jubilee pop concert at Buckingham Palace.
