CHILDREN under the age of five are to have their own storyteller's chair.
The piece of furniture will be delivered to Bishop Auckland Town Hall, on Thursday where children from the town will be anxiously awaiting its arrival.
To celebrate the occasion storyteller Eileen Glenton will be ready with a host of magical stories for children.
The chair was commissioned by Bishop Auckland Town Hall, from former Cathedral Artist in Residence Colin Wilbourn.
Mr Wilbourn, an artist and sculptor in wood, was responsible for creating the internationally famous tree sculpture The Upper Room which was sited by the river banks in Durham.
He has also created a series of sculptures Durham University Botanic Gardens.
The arrival of the chair marks the start of a new series of Twiglets sessions at Bishop Auckland Town Library.
The sessions, featuring stories and activities for the under fives, will take place on Thursday mornings from 10.30am to 11.30am, from June 13, to July 18. Admission is free and donations for materials are welcomed.
