AS the nation continued to celebrate the jubilee, residents of Coronation Avenue have lived up to their patriotic address.
Mother-of-three Julie Maxwell decided to organise a royal knees-up to give her children a taste of the fun which she enjoyed at the silver jubilee.
Residents from neighbouring Prince Place and Queen Drive, joined the party of 500 people in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear.
Some of Mrs Maxwell's favourite childhood memories come from the street party her parents helped to prepare 25 years ago.
She said: "We were all together, excited and having fun outside - I don't think there's enough of that these days."
She wanted her children, Joey, nine, Mason, three, and Maddison, one, to experience the community fun that she remembers from the Silver Jubilee. She said the children had been very excited and had helped to bake cakes.
Caterers were brought in to prepare a buffet, and there was a bouncy castle and beer tent.
