THE rain may have delayed the start of one Jubilee street party but it certainly did not deter residents from having fun.
People living in Bell Street, Bishop Auckland, enjoyed plenty of good food and drink, a raffle and tombola as part of their Golden Jubilee celebrations.
The event was organised by Marie Britton, Michelle Woodfine, Julie Nixon and Eileen and Fred Copeland, who did the street proud.
Afterwards youngsters were presented with commemorative mugs filled with sweets.
Mrs Britton, 38, said: "The party was supposed to start at 12 o'clock but because of the rain it started at 12.30.
"It didn't rain at all during the party. We had a few games and two big Jubilee cakes. It has been brilliant most of the street turned out.''
